Position Description
Are you interested in learning about different types of people? Would you enjoy collecting
stories of impact and creating marketing and educational content? If so, NourishPHX’s Story
Teller & Media Coordinator VISTA position might be the perfect fit for you!
NourishPHX is a trusted community hub serving vulnerable individuals and families by offering
resources to satisfy immediate needs and to provide pathways to self-sufficiency. We believe
that no matter the situation, each individual should have hope and dignity when facing the
extreme adversity that life hands us. We believe that each piece of clothing, each piece of food,
each item received is one-by-one changing the world for the good.
The VISTA will connect with families served by NourishPHX to collect their stories to gain a
deeper understanding of their individual situations, needs and goals. This effort will help Nourish
PHX understand what the organization is doing well and what services need to be improved or
added. These stories also will be used for a variety of key materials such as social media,
newsletters, fundraising opportunities and impact reports in supporting the organization towards
achieving its mission.
The VISTA will connect one-on-one with current families by setting up and
conducting interviews, and then using that information to create stories to be shared across the
NourishPHX network. Additionally, the VISTA will create a data analysis and impact report
based on information gathered including top client needs, desires and goals on an individual
level, as well as any recommendations to improve client access to services towards pathways of
self-sufficiency. This will then be presented to the organization at the end of the VISTA’s
service.
